How to change your status Privacy in Whatsapp

WhatsApp Status is a new feature added by whatsapp which you can see in Instagram or messenger or Facebook. It is not actually new on whatsapp. When you add a feature on whatsapp, it will be live for only 20 hours then it will be gone, people mainly use this mainly for showing their best photos or videos just like as Facebook posts

Changing your status privacy

Your status updates cannot be seen by people whose numbers are not saved in your address book. You can choose to share your status updates with all of your contacts or with selected contacts only.

By default, your status updates are set to be shared with all your contacts.

To change your status privacy:


  1. Go to the Status screen.
  2. Tap the Menu Button > Status privacy.
  3. Choose who can see your status updates.
